Geiger’s Alien) and general weirdness. Put them on a stage and let them sing to you about how they hate their ex-men and what they’d like to do with people they don’t like (it’s nothing nice) telling you it’s not a song but a curse. Vampire lesbians from outer space? Yes, probably. Is it good? Well, is the pope a catholic? It can’t fail! It’s humour, it’s a wild party, it’s everything your parents hate about goth and punk at the same time. And it’s bloody good music played by talented people. These ladies prove that goth doesn’t have to be about shattered hearts and suicide to the tones of tons of strings and church organs.

Alma Geddon la voz principal juega un importantísimo papel en la banda, pues su característico y peculiar registro la hace hoy en día una de las mejores voces femeninas dentro de la escena.

Se dice de ellos que en su primer album bebieron de las fuentes más intrínsecas de los Virgin Prunes, y que con el último disco se han llevado todos los honores de una de las mejores bandas que juegan con el humor negro y satírico de sus letras.

El debut del álbum «Lesbian Vampyres From out Space» que se lanzó este mismo año tuvo una tremenda acogida, y no es para menos. La banda sólo ha sacado dos álbunes, el «Creepy Crawlies» en el 2004, y el anteriormente mencionado.

Devils Whorehouse was formed by Morgan and B War of Marduk together with two local musicians in January 2000. Starting out as a Misfits, Samhain coverband but after just two rehearsals the band started to do material in the same vein but with a darker more extreme approach. Inspired by human/unhuman beasts, execution grounds, cemeteries, carnage and the glorification of the imminent approach of death. The band entered the studio in April 2000 recording a minialbum named "The Howling" and was released on Halloween 2000. Followed by selected live apperences. During the summer of 2003 the band entered the studio once again, this time it was for the recording of the full length album carrying the title "Revelation Unorthodox" released in the fall of 2003 recieving enthustiastic raise from both fans and media. Due to different commitments
the band was placed on hiatus until now.

SHAPESHIFT AND ARISE! Devils Whorehouse has been reanimated and with a strong and vicious line up the band is currently creating and preparing new material for upcoming releases aswell as live apperances.

Dementia ’99 surgió de las cenizas de una banda de sonido primitivo, pero divertido, llamado “The Alien Fried Eggs”, una sarcástica imitación de los Alien de toda la vida, pero con un tono más desenfadado, cantado en castellano, y más parecido a unos parálisis permanente pasados de rosca. Cuando se disolvió esta banda, Virus (Guitarra) y Caín (Vocalista) decidieron realizar un proyecto más serio. Virus no había realizado nada antes de tocar con Caín, y Caín, sólo había realizado dos maquetas llamadas “Llora Hermana”, que resultaban ser unos experimentos de música Gótica sin clara predilección por ningún estilo. Deseaban realizar un sonido más cercano al Death rock. Estilo musical que les dejó impactados desde la primera escucha en los primeros discos de Christian death que llegaron a caer en sus manos. Esos primeros discos fueron el Only theatre of hate y el Atrocities. De esa forma, no estaban con ninguna confrontación entre el estilo de Valor y el de Rozz, aunque en un principio, salvando las necesarias distancias, realizarían un estilo más cercano al purista y roquero estilo deathrock de Shadow Project., ya que sus dos primeros discos les “iluminó” como concepto a “imitar” a la hora compositiva. Tampoco deseaban renunciar a sus influencias Afterpunks, y su peculiar y psicodélica forma de entender la música y el resultado prometía. De esa forma, en febrero de 1996 nació Dementia ’99: Cain Uriel (Vocalista) Virus (Guitarra) Tavi (Bateria) Nada (Bajo). El nombre de la banda se seleccionó entre muchas otras opciones para insinuar la psicodélica forma de realizar los directos, por ello se eligió el tema de Marrionettes “Ave Dementia” que consideraban clásico, y añadir el 99 por dos motivos. Por la paranoia existente ante tal señalado año, y para realizar ya un pequeño homenaje a Valor Kand artista muy admirado por Caín y Virus. >>>

Theatres des Vampires were among the first bands with a sound that would be called Vampiric Metal by many later on. Their horror and gothic attitude was associated to an almost maniacal search of everything connected to the vampirism.. They had a coherent image, themes and atmospheres and a real cult was born among their fans immediately, a sort of religion, that made them follow the band everywhere and create many fans club all over the world.

In the years their sound, that first was strongly influenced by gothic symphonic Black Metal, then has evolved more and more in something that rarely has been played by other metal bands. It mixes different influences of gothic, electro music, classical music, opera and rock.

In few years Theatres des Vampires have created a personal style, uneasily listable, characterized by melancholic and crepuscular songs, but always powerful and catching, where the duet of countess Sonia Scarlet sensual vocals and the male vocals, melt them together in a sepulchral wedding. .

The band has produced 6 album in 10 years, always with the big English label Plastic Head, and has became more famous each year in Europe, Sud America and Russia.

The many concerts in big festivals all over the world witness this success. We can remember some important festival such as: Vampyria III in London in 1999, Gods of Metal in Italy in 2000, Gothic Treffen in Lipsia in 2003 and 2006, Gotham in London in 2004, Metal Female Voices Festival in Belgium in 2006

In 2003 they played with Christian Death in a long European tour, and recorded an album with Valor of Christian Death and Gian Pyras of Cradle of Filth as special guests.

Their shows are always very attended and have been enriched in the years with fireworks, more and more sulphurous atmospheres and the presence out of line of Scarlet. The band has often problems with the local laws of the countries where it plays.

In 2003 in Italy a bishop blessed and tried to exorcize the place where Theatres des Vampires played, and the new was published by Italian newspapers.

Since 2004 Sonia Scarlet has remained the only voice and the front girl of the band. Now she has not a secondary vocal role anymore and can show her talent. The shows of Theatres des Vampires have benefited from this and the fans are enthusiastic. Scarlet feels so involved during the concerts that often she makes scares on herself with razor blades to allow fans to drink by her, to share her immortality. In 2005 several English clubs forbade her to do this, because it violates the English laws against the incitement to suicide. But Theatres des Vampires arent frightened and go on with their live shows: theatrical, full of blood, sex, perversion, horror and lust.

The last album Pleasure and Pain released by Theatres des Vampires was published the 18 November 2005 ; music critics and fans consider it as the best album of their career at the first listening. The famous special guest that are present witness this. Were talking about: Bruno Kramm from Das Ich, Flegias from Necrodeath, Dhiloz from Ancient, and members from Ensoph and Stormlord.

In October 2006 was released the first live DVD of the band The addiction tour 2006, this was immediatelly considered by the fans a "must-have" release.

About Devils Whorehouse
Devils Whorehouse was formed by B.War and Morgan of Marduk together with 2 local musicians namely Zwedda and Hrafn in january 2000. They started out as a Misfits/Samhain cover band,but just after 2 rehearsals the band started to do their own material in the same vein as the above mentioned bands. Inspired by horror movies. realizations and glorifications of the imminent approach of death and disreputable monsters.

The band entered the studio in April 2000 recording a mini album with 4 tunes and also as a bonus they recorded 4 cover songs (2 Misfits and 2 Samhain tracks) The mini album The Howling was released on Halloween 2000,at the same day the band also did their first live apperance which was followed by another one on Halloween 2001.

During Summer 2003 the band entered the studio once again, this time it was for the recording of the full length album carrying the title “Revelation Unorthodox”. The album include 13 songs of utmost high class horror-death rock, keeping the spirit of the old masters (Misfits & Samhain) alive.

All this album is is just a heavier version of the Misfits, and since I hate the Misfits, I don't like this album either. Goofy lyrics with 3-chord songs, boring, Danzig-rip off vocals, and bland drumming. I mean, the guy singing sounds EXACTLY like Danzig that it's absurd. This is total garbage of the lowest order. I like Morgan in Marduk and Abruptum, but why would he want to be in a blatant cover band like this? Yes, a cover band, as if you never heard of these guys and you put this on, you'd immediately think it was the Misfits.
Bottom line, only buy this if you are a diehard Misfits fan.

Sounds Like: A mixture of goth, deathrock, punk, industrial, glam and darkwave.


Tras varios discos autoproducidos, varias apariciones en recopilatorios y muchas actuaciones en directo, los estadounidenses Tragic Black nos ofrecen su primer trabajo para Strobelight Records. Hubo gente que les acuso de ser una banda deathrock que copiaba a otros artistas, pero con ‘The decadent requiem’ han demostrado que ni lo uno ni lo otro. La influencia de algunas bandas deathrockeras es evidente y está presente en gran parte de los temas que componen el disco, pero otros muchos géneros musicales tienen cabida en su música ya que en sus temas encontramos elementos de estilos tan diversos como el industrial, el punk, el psychobilly, el metal o el gothic rock, eso sí, sin llegar a abusar de ninguno de ellos. Por otro lado, Tragic Black está consiguiendo con el paso de los años alcanzar un sonido bastante personal que les diferencia de muchas bandas del panorama oscuro actual.

Han mejorado en la composición de los temas, las melodías de guitarras han progresado (pese que en algún momento aislado siguen sonando un poco perdidas) y la programación de las bases está mucho más trabajada además de poseer más fuerza que en sus primeros trabajos. La voz de Vision es uno de los elementos característicos de su música, sonando en ocasiones muy cercana a la de vocalistas de grupos como Sex Gang Children o Virgin Prunes y en otros momentos con registros más cercanos a los de un cantante de una banda de metal, pero en ambos casos llena de pasión e intensidad . La producción es mejor que en anteriores grabaciones aunque todavía puede mejorar, lo que les ayudará conseguir un mejor acabado en sus canciones. La gran mayoría de los temas aparecieron con anterioridad en ‘The sixx premonitions’ y ‘Burnt black’ (en directo), aunque personalmente echo en falta una de mis favoritas, ‘Die nacht’.

Como temas destacables podemos mencionar la muy pogueable ‘Suburbian dystopia’, con un sonido bastante más punk que otros cortes del disco, ‘Mad hatter’ deathrock de corte más clásico donde destaca la potencia de las bases, ’Lost time’, preciosa canción algo más calmada donde melodías de sintetizador y piano llevan el peso del tema hasta que una guitarra termina por explotar hacia la mitad del mismo volviendo finalmente de nuevo a la calma o ‘Parasitism’ trepidante y genial pieza de marcado carácter psychobilly.Por último señalar que además de las 14 canciones el disco incluye tres videoclips.

‘The decadent requiem’ supone un paso adelante en la carrera musical de Tragic Black que han decidido no estancarse dentro de los sonidos oscuros más ortodoxos aportando originalidad y calidad a su música, junto a grandes dosis de dramatismo y locura. Probablemente sus mejores trabajos estén por llegar, pero este disco no hace más que afianzarlos dentro de la escena deathrockera.

Hoy vamos a poner un poquito de HorrorPunk, con una vieja banda americana, que ya no existe, pero que realmente estaba muy bien... y apenas son conocidos

Al igual que sus contemporaneos Misfits y Samhain,a mediados de los ochenta los death-rockers Brain Eaters de New York City combinaron la sacudida sexy del punk (a menudo mezclada con toques góticos y metálicos) con temas sobre películas de terror clásicas.


La idea para formar la banda comenzó a ulcerarse en la mente mórbida de Joe Truck a principios de la primavera de 1986. Entonces, él tocaba la bateria con los postpunks Burning Rome, ya en 1983 habia militado en varios projectos como Tea for None y Twelfthnight, habia sido guitarrista en Scarecrow (1983-84), cantante de Chop Shop (1984-85), y co-productor de The Naked and the Dead (1985). Sin embargo, el estimulo para regresar delante del micrófono surgio por la gran pasion que sentia por Misfits y Samhain esto le animo a hacer un proyecto para satisfacer su vena vampirica.
