Rocket 350 - Built To Last

ROCKET 350 #Alpharetta,Georgia -USA#

Genre
: Powerfull Rockabilly/Hillbilly/Psychobilly

"Melts in your mouth and all over your hands. "

Band Members : Phil 350, Tank, The admiral
Influences : Rocket from the Crypt, Elvis Presley, Stray Cats, Guns n Roses, Motley Crue, AC DC, The Clash, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Burnette, The living End
Sounds Like : A traffic accident inside your stereo

Powerful Rockabilly trio with deep southern feel. Loud but tuneful, modern but with one foot set back in the past... poised to kick at any moment.

When music lovers indulge in Rocket 350's Elvis-tinged swagger, they are greeted by the combination of high-speed, rockabilly rock 'n' roll and a deep southern feel. Raised on a diet of Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent and Johnny Burnette records, Rocket 350 keeps the music traditional, while cranking out a hard-rocking twist of its own. With its blend of four-on-the-floor drums, break-neck slap bass and scorching guitar, Rocket 350 plays rock 'n' roll the way it was meant to be played.

Formed in 1997 and formerly located in Athens, Georgia, Rocket 350 now lives and breathes in Atlanta, Georgia, where the members can be found rocking out at the Star Bar or the Echo Lounge. The band has seen its share of line-up changes over the years, with some members leaving on good terms, and others not so good. Phil "350" Stair, the front man and guitar slinger, has remained driven enough to pull the band out of collapse several times, and has now established the most stable and talented line-up to date,

including Gary "Grease Monkey" Bernie on upright bass and Adam "The Admiral" Gilbert on drums.

Rocket 350 has headlined four U.S. tours and produced two national releases in conjunction with Beatville Records. Both records -- "American Grease" and "Junglebilly" -- have received airtime on radio stations across the country and raised the interest of members of the press throughout the nation. Rocket 350 has also had the privilege to share the stage with such legends as Dick Dale, Reverend Horton Heat, and the Stray Cat's Lee Rocker. In addition, it has supported many national acts, such as The Amazing Crowns, The Kings of Nuthin, The Hillbilly Hellcats and Hi Fi and the Road Burners.

This new release on Rock N Roll Purgatory includes 13 original songs that showcase their love of rockabilly, punk, and just plain rock'n'roll. Instead of merely focusing on recreating sounds of the past, Rocket 350 continues to evolve and expand. "I see a lot of bands that do pull the retro thing. They're very traditional and they just don't try to push their music anywhere," says Stair. "I really think we try to push it a lot more than most rockabilly bands do."

Cosmic Cockfish Jukebox

COSMIC COCKFISH JUKEBOX
#
Helsinki/Iisalmi/Hämeenlinna, -Finland#

Genre: Psychobilly

http://s6.directupload.net/images/070924/4ltdzgHD.jpg
"Rough 'n Roll with Bollocks!"

Band Members: VILLE KOMULAINEN: Vocals,Guitars JUKKA-VALTTERI KARI: Guitars,Vocals JUHA KUJANEN: Upright Bass ERNO VAINANEN: Drums,Background vocals
Influences : Rockabilly,Psychobilly,Garage,Rock'n Roll, The Reverend Horton Heat, The Living End... This will be endless list.

A some while ago Risto Karhunen was arranging his last psychobilly party alone. He phoned Eikka;the renowned former drummer of the Lost Boys and asked for a cover band to that date. Eikka said no. Risto came to Eikka's door and hit him several times with a baseball bat. Under a slight pressure Eikka said yes. At first he phoned to Hämeenlinna and asked Cellar Beasts dudes to come along. Jukkis and Juha joined in,but another guitar was definetly needed. Eikka knew the right guy for the job, they have met several times under heavy influences of alcohol. The man was Ville; formerly widely known as mental viljo for his fierce crimes against chicken societies and tractor workshops. He also used to play bass in a hardcore psychobilly band called Toxocaras. So the band was ready to rehearse. The set of psychobilly and punkrock classics were ready fast, somehow the band worked out way too easy. The two gigs what are meant to be went great and the band got lots of postive feedback (and pussy),so it began to write songs of it's own. Songs were weird: Some kind of extremely twisted rockabilly with punk influences. We thought many days and nights in the bar what we could call this monstrosity. Then it came out like a lightning bolt from the clear sky: We would call this music Psychobilly! We googled the word and for our dissapointment some English angry dude had already done this in early eighties. We were pissed. We just plainly started to call it Rough n' Roll. Cosmic Cockfish Jukebox booked a studio and begun to record tracks for the album. For their luck Gordon Kärkkäinen, the famous prouducer was in the Ihmis-Supi hunt at the nearby shopping mall. The Ihmis-Supi slipped in from the studio door and Gordon mutilated the door with a chainsaw and HOLY SHIT! Gordon was amazed, smoked a haystack of weed and drank one light beer. He wanted to produce this. Band agreed and album is not ready even today because of serious drinking..we'll wait what happens in the future.
